welcome to test the map out yes its a fairly hefty download but its 99% custom models etc.
do not download if the map size is an issue and PLEASE do not moan about it on here!

now ive got that out the way, still got alot to to on this again bot spawns are a f*** pain in the ass some work some dont im looking into the reason

this has been an issue on the last 3 maps im making


IMPORTANT: sometimes modio will not delete old map or mod when a new version is uploaded. if anyone has any issue or some players can see assets but others cannot

go to your sandstorm mods modio folder and delete the old mod or map YOUR DRIVE:\steam games\steamapps\common\sandstorm\Insurgency\Mods\modio

SO THIS MAPS MOD ID NUMBER IS 2123731 JUST DELETE THAT FOLDER AND RE DOWNLOAD/RE CONNECT TO SERVER. THIS ALSO APPLIES TO SERVER OWNERS!

THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST THING TO DO ANYWAY AS YOU WILL DOWNLOAD A FRESH UPDATE OF THE MAP OR MOD


its so hard for me to test with just myself this is why im releasing it for u guys to try it, its very rare i play gun bots coop were mainly a frenzy server

so any feedback from the normal coop community is very welcomed

Played this the other night and kept running into invisible walls, also the AI clip through one of the apartment buildings at OBJ "I" (the one after the ferris wheel), but I am liking the extra buildings and such, is it possible to make all the buildings enterable?

you will have to be more specific on invisible walls ive not encountered this. there is a blocking volume around the perimeter of the map nothing else though

added ladder system to runway tower (until i build new tower) and ladder system to objective A (top floor rear roof access) and E to allow access to roof and descend from roof. player respawns hopefully should work as they should if not let me know

hi yes thats sorted for next update, i need to move them back one cap. the runway tower is sort of a placeholder at the moment for a better version the main issue is the more i add in regards custom models the larger the file size of the map, its a necessary evil to make it totally unique scenario but i have to be mindful the map size is already 3.2gb

regarding the ferris wheel it might be possible adding sockets to each seat its something ive not had chance to play around with yet as collision is a big issue along with desync ( this is why nwi had so many issues with vehicles) its not off the table though we will see

My Server loves the map, the only issue brought up with the map is the Respawn locations its basically the next OBJ and they're surrounded by Enemy Bots, is it possible to change the location of the Respawns at the previous OBJ so they're not cut off from the rest of the team?

would also love to get into the tower of the last OBJ as a Sniper/MG nest

Also one did request the ability to be able to ride the Swings and Ferris wheel

Maps too big!!! I defo won't play it haha!!!! Nah good job it takes time and patience to build a map and this is your first attempt so there will be some noticeable things that you haven't done. Trial and error comes to mind. Positive feedback is what you want any negative feedback i wouldn't bother replying to mate take your time. However the community here are here to help you improve on what you have mate. Keep up the good work and stop stealing my assets lol

no not really having a pop at anyone in particular and there will be plenty to complain about with this map hahah, i could make yet another boring middle eastern map with just game assets ( the ones that do work ) which i wouldnt bother making tbh. even using procedural foliage spawners which i have used to try out on this map is good and bad ie: alot disappears if you are high up at distance but the good you get good fps. the custom assets are where the filesize really changes but then to have a completely new scenario is worth it for me. i stated the obvious in the description, a 300mb map is not going to happen i have played enough generic churn outs which makes me strive to make stuff like this. is this map good enough yet? nowhere near especially with a 1 step forward and 3 steps back editor but ill do my best with it.

I completely understand wanting to make something different. We tried to play it last night, but it never came into the selection screen.
It’s taken an hour of killing myself but it’s finally appeared. think this will be a map the Arma crowd like so it’s fine for me, but the COD crowd maybe prefer something more CQB.
I was playing by myself, and it would definitely have been better with a team. I got to point E, so can’t speak for after that.
My thoughts:
It’s new and original which is always good.
Atmospheric again, same as Desolation.
It really made me creep along the ground with an HK 417 as I kept getting plinked from different directions.
Interesting idea to blow up trucks instead of the normal weapon cache.
When it’s finished, it’ll need communication/teamwork.

Maybe needs a little work on lighting; a bit more contrast ?
Again, I was by myself so I can’t speak for when there are a lot of people and more AI, but I found myself wanting a bit more action between points. A few more buildings to break up the landscape, maybe a couple of vehicles.
Also the only supply box I came across was at the initial spawn point.

Anyway, it was fun and original and isn’t finished, I know that. The Pripyat idea is a good one, it’s always good to have a context. Shame I was by myself as I think this would be great with a team. I’ll see if we can do that tonight. I’ll let you know.

thanks for taking the time to try it, yes its playtesting where u can see places that need work . the issue i have now is ive ran out of custom assets at the moment so ill have to improvise with game ones. i have reworked the spawns and capture points and supply boxes to an extent which will need checking (bot spawns in general) anyway ive added 2 more capture point locations. lighting im starting to suss out thank god this will be polished later!

So I had a team of four play it last night before you’d made some changes, and this morning after the changes too.
Before the changes feedback was mainly about the bot spawns, and they’d have liked some cover between the objectives as they’re far apart.
After the changes, the bots spawns in the earlier objectives A-D we’re ok. But there were a couple of times after that when the bots spawned around the players and mowed them down. I think it was mainly on obj G.
Again they would have liked some cover between objectives.
Given the theme of the map, are there any of the power plant map Assets that would work?
Anyway, it’s getting there! Good job!

I understand your frustration with people complaining about the map size, but as a server owner, I can also understand the person who commented this.
I don’t think I personally complained about the size of the maps, but the thing is that if you ask for feedback from the coop community, it may well be part of the feedback the server owner receives, so it will then get reported back to you.
That’s not me having a go in any way, as I always announce on discord if I’m testing a big map. If the players have a problem with that then they simply use one of the other ESJ servers :), and the players also know that I don’t like people complaining about getting the benefits of another person’s hard work when they get to use it for free.
So……. I’m perfectly happy to try out the maps, size regardless, on my ESJ 3 Arbusto server, as I have been doing. (Not Containment yet, as I’ve been busy). I’ll tell them we ‘re testing it for you.
When they’re complete and as bug free as is possible in this game, I’ll put them on the other servers too. Is that ok?
I’ll let you know any feedback as constructively as I can.
