A small peaceful town in the mountains has been hit by a harsh winter and over run by enemy combatants. The local population abandoned their homes and local law enforcement and military have been out numbered and retreated after a brief conflict. Your mission is to secure the area and bring order to chaos.


Made for the 2020 Mapping contest to be judged on checkpoint mode

This and my other map Winter are my first attempts at creating a map or using unreal editor its been a big learning curve and have no idea what I'm doing at some points. I have always wanted to create a map after playing so many great community maps and having some free time during lock down gave me the kick i needed to start learning.

Thank you to everyone who have played this and provided feedback to help improve this map, it started as two buildings and has grown based on player feedback and multiple hours of play testing.

If you have issues, please delete mod folder 168144 for this and reinstall, it seemed to work for me. Not sure why its started doing that

All these open arches on these buildings don't make any sense at all for a snowy mountain.

wasnt always but since the 1.9 update ai seems to act differently and it was a way to help navigate them. thats why i had to also remove doors they just couldnt work out how to open them.

The bus stop has some floating graffiti on the inside of a removed wall. The map feels overwhelming, but maybe that is because I played Domination and there are so many spots an enemy could be hiding. It also seems to fluctuate in terms of quality, some parts look polished, other parts not as much and I even spotted some misaligned and clipping geometry. I liked that none of the walls that I saw looked plain or artificial, it always had some kind of sprite that adds variety. This is a great result of a first map in UE, good job!

Thank you for playing and thank you for your feedback. The map was created for tactical room clearing style checkpoint mode so may not play as well in the other PVP modes. There are a few bits not aligned my computer is underpowered and the editor is stuttery at the best of times which makes it hard not navigate the map and precisely align things and i have this issue if i spin the camera to fast unreal crashes. I have fixed alot of things but cant update when this voting stage is on.

Thank you again for playing and taking the time to leave feedback, feedback from players is what i relied on from the start in expanding and growing this map.

I have a stupid question... Once I load the map into the game and update the Map Cycle, should it show up in the Admin menu to be manually selected, or how do I manually select it? Right now, it downloaded, shows it is there, but no way to switch it it. It is in the Map Cycle. Thanks in advance for any info.

It seems to be in rotation and working once I was able to vote for it, but could not force it from the Admin Menu... One thing that I noted, was that I could not find any Resupply Points! Not sure where they are at? From what I see from playing it, it is a good map!

thanks for playing, all checkpoints should have resupply points located at the spawns tgat activate aftervthe checkpoint is taken. they should show on map after u capture objective but the mini map is not that accurate but they should appear on the screen when u get near. harcore mode just has some ammo boxes scattered about .

its in the green building near the outside steps. i didnt put ot outside directly point a as the map is quite close and didnt want people getting shot whilst resupplying.
B its on the top floor of the building next to it with the hole in the wall

C its on the top floor of the motel

D bottom floor hospital

E outside

F outside

g back down the steps towards F

Final submission, i cant do any more on it at the moment. please continue to post bugs, and suggestions . im aware of some messed of shadowing byt my computer couldnt handle production lighting build. not got time to mess around anymore so submitting as it is

Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.... I am trying to install this map on my server.... I have installed the Mod Number: "168144" in the mods.txt file, added "Scenario_Frost_Checkpoint_Security" to the mapcycle.txt file, Copied the .pak files to F:\SandStorm_Coop_2\Insurgency\Content\Paks and it will not cycle to it, it will not even recognize it is there... Has to be something obvious... any advise would be appreaciated.

I rent, so going into my FTP for the server I see the folder listed as "/Insurgency/Mods/modio/168144". It is linux.
