ISMCmod brings a plethora of content to the game including weapons, attachments, cosmetics, new factions and more.


The mod has four mutators to choose from.

ISMCarmory_Legacy is for those who'd like to stay as close to the "old" ISMC as possible. Due to the issues with the NWI update, we had to redo the system. That means it is experimental and not yet fully tested.

ISMC_Casual is for players who want the new build, with new classes, cosmetics, vehicles and all that fun stuff.

ISMC_Hardcore is made for those who want a real challenge. It's like the casual, but hardcore all the way!

ISMC_Karmacore is a whole new level of hardcore. Enjoy!


ISMCarmory_Legacy Adds the ISMC guns and no cosmetics. Can be played on both insurgent and security maps. Contains two classes, operator and team leader with access to either western or eastern weaponry. Has vanilla enemy bots on each side. Might not work with friendly bots. Vanilla animations and speed.

ISMC_Casual Cosmetics and guns added. Can be played on both insurgent and security maps. Contains all classes, Team Leader, Gunner, Breacher, Marksman, Demolitions and Advisor, and has unlimited class slots. Blufor/Redfor enemy bots with vanilla AI behavior. Vanilla animations and speed.

ISMC_Hardcore Cosmetics and guns added. Can be played on both insurgent and security maps. Contains all classes, Team Leader, Gunner, Breacher, Marksman, Demolitions and Advisor, and has limited class slots (1 Team Leader, 2 for other classes). Blufor/Redfor enemy bots with vanilla AI behavior. Hardcore animations and speed.

ISMC_Karmacore Same as hardcore, except: Players have half the health and one slot per class.


How to play the mod:


PLAYERS: To play simply join a server running ISMC. If it doesn't work the server is most likely not updated to the newest version yet.

SERVER OWNERS: Add 150867 to your mod.txt, and one of the mutators above to your startup parameters. We recommend having 50% of the bots you usually run when playing hardcore or karmacore, our new AI is significantly harder and benefits from fewer bots. Having 150-200 supply is also a good idea.


REMEMBER TO DELETE OLD/BETA VERSIONS in your mod.io folder if you experience any issues loading the mod. Here are a list of their mod IDs:

Appreciate yall for updating this so quickly since the main game update broke it... few questions/concerns

1.) as Insurgents, the weaponry is extremely limited/ Why cant I get the MG3 as INS like the reg game? and the PKM doesnt even have extended mags, why not? I noticed many guns now missing extended mags, please add back soon?
2.) Please add back Saiga to Security, it was just too much fun to take away hahaha
3.) Is there plans to add more cantered sights to other guns, right now I cant add it on Lapua, which would make sense running the 7x scope.

Ext mags is something we will bring bacl as soon as we do a balancing pass on the mod, still a lot of work to be done! Having said that all mgs defaults with ext mags now.
We added its american equivalent, the VR80, do test it out!
Canted sights will come to more guns in the future for sure!

To answer some of the concerns; the reason we now have classes is because the game wont load if we bring too many guns into one side, this is an inherent issue with sandstorm's engine. The new AI is only active on the hardcore, not on the casual, and I would appreciate it if some of you toned down the bashing and tried being constructive instead. Not calling anyone out, just remember we, I, are doing this **** for free and with severly limited tools from NWI, and inherently changing the AI behavior is locked off due to it being C++. Now, consider this: the new AI has removed "follow team leader" behavior, making them far less prone to conga lining, they have 50/50 split behavior making some of them defensive, going into the ambush behavior to protect an obj, while some is super aggressive and will flush out the enemy like a player would. I personally have not had these kinds of issues with the AI, on PVP the AI is actually using a broken behavior in which Im not sure can ever be fixed. In my testing I saw them walking back away from the obj, and that was before I did any tweaks, just using vanilla AI.

So in short I appreciate the passion from you guys, I truly make this mod for my own game style, while we do cater to a larger audience with the casual stuff that is not my passion. It will just exist as a byproduct of my true passion which is making a tactical shooter out of sandstorm.

Hey guys,

I commented about this issue under the Binford beta 3 Modio page a few days ago.

It's about the new AI that you brought in with the recent binford update. They're getting stuck at spawn a lot (especially the RedFor/Insurgent side). I'm not using any AI mods either. Just ISMC.

After spawning they often sit at spawn and walk around for half a minute or so, then advance forward from spawn like 50 meters, walk around again, and run back to spawn. Then they just repeat the process over and over.

Sometimes they get unstuck after a couple of minutes and actually push towards the objective, other times they sit there until a point is captured and then decide to actually leave spawn. I've even had them stuck at spawn for the entire round. It was in firefight. I just ran around and captured all the points with no resistance whatsoever...

This happens in checkpoint modes, as well as PvP modes with bots enabled. I tested it everywhere just to see.

And also, i've also seen them shoot at enemies and just stare at them once they run out of ammo. They just keep standing there until someone else kills the enemy they engaged with. Then they get unstuck and reload their gun and actually start functioning again.

This happens even in the legacy theater now, but to a lesser extent for some reason. It's most prominent in the binford theaters.

Could you guys at least make some theaters that don't use the new AI? It makes games unbearable sometimes when there's no one to shoot for like 10 minutes, because the enemies all got stuck at their starting location.

Oh, and i'd love to be able to use ak rifles as security in the legacy theater again. And have one shot headshots, cuz it seems people can take multiple shots to the head now, even in legacy or hardcore.

I don't understand how they can say "vanilla AI behavior" for all of the mutators and at the same time recommend a 50% decrease in AI because of changes they made. Something is missing in the explanation of what they did because those two things are mutually exclusive.

Ye i don`t understand what they where thinking, forcing their "Interpretation" of what good AI is down every server admins throat. That is a huge blunder and i hope they fix it extremely fast. They are totally overstepping their competence. If they think they have a good AI, make a standalone mutator and see how people like it. Also the BluFor crap, custom Cosmetic for the enemy team. The "one size fits all" approach is ********. I think they got a little to high from all the self patting on their back, thinking everything they change about this game makes it better.

Hi guys. Big fan of the mod. Problem right now is, everytime I connect to an official EU ismc server, I lose connection after about 2 mins. It's mostly enough to select my loudout, then I get "verbindung zum server verloren" (lost conneciton to the server). I deleted all the files in the mod folder and downloaded them ingame twice again with no success. Tried it on different ismc EU servers so far. In one server where the map "macedonia" was running I even got a freeze and the game crashed. Any ideas or advice?

sounds like broken mod installations or conflicting mod folders in steam, try deleting all ISMC folders from steam then reinstall

Hello, we are play ISMC_legacy and we miss the full weaponary. Furthermore the AI get 3 (!) headshots before died. Seriously? Can I adjust this on my server? Dont want to play CoD?

With ISMC_casual I don't see any firesupport grenades (something I liked from Binford) and on ISMCarmory_legacy and ISMC_casual there is literally only like one rifle that has an extended mag and none that I could find that have drum mags. Vanilla has these available on many weapons. Am I missing something? This seems to lose what was good in Binford and legacy for me and is a downgrade from what is available in vanilla.

Not exactly a fan of downloading nearly 5gb just to use the weapons, I don't want to play what is essentially Binford.
I would really have liked for these projects to stay separated, I don't have fast bandwidth like some people, and I think others would agree about these filesize issues.

I also dislike having my weapon selection limited, and being forced to pick up the weapon I actually want off the ground just to enjoy the game.
Why do the exact same thing that NWI did by forcing players to use specific weapons per faction?

Some feedback:
-Reduce filesize, please, for all of us with bad internet
-Have an option to allow all weapons to be available regardless of faction again
-Have an option to use any of the modes without the cosmetics

Please, not everyone is looking to play Arma 3 or Squad here.

we're working on potential ways to fix this issue, making a lightweight mod version has been something we want to do for some time, but hasn't been a personal priority for me. Right now we're figuring out how we can do it without causing a lot of compatibility issues with normal ISMC.

The Point with weapon selection limitations is absolute right. NWI got a shitstorm when they did this couple of months ago. So why the hell bringing up these limitations again is an good idea?
