BAD NEWS


I made a messup and had to reset my desktop. I didn't know that I wouldn't be able to upload to this package anymore. So Im going to be making a V2 of this map :(

On the bright side... I learned a lot from V1 and remaking the entire map will faster and have better performance and visuals. I recently got some nice terrain modelling tools so this should be fun :D

I should be done with the map by wednesday of next week.

Random Name Backstory

Abadhills... why the name. originally I was going to name the project AbadMap get it? but i got distracted and wrote hills after Abad. Sounding kinda middle eastern I kept the map name.

Too bad on the reset, it is starting to look like a real nice map with the latest changes.
Could you add some hard cover in the bushes? Bots are shooting right through them and killing us without any line of sight...

Yeah I just got home today so Ill be uploading something new soon. good to know about the hard cover. I'm just really trying to optimize the assets that im bringing into this next version. Currently on a 5k x 5k map the size after compression is almost 2 gigs. I'm no expert but its only going to make further development harder and the time between the updates longer based on uploading times alone. So im taking all 8k textures down to 4k wont look as nice but you wont have to download 4+ gigs when im done with it lol :D

Just noticed something weird... At E - Open Wide door you cannot go out of, But can shoot out of. Very large room... I had a picture of it, but lost it. If you need it let me know and I will go find it... Also another note, Users playing it on my server seem to like it so far. Keep up the good work.

Just finished playing the map all the way through SOLO.. and it was hard... and it was Great.... For Single player, 4 points is good... But on a server... Personally would like to see 3 or 4 more... Keep up the Great work... Really Like the map.

yeah I'm adding another area behind checkpoint D and expanding into another 2 checkpoints. The spawns are a little messed up but will be fixed in time. I'm also going to add a insurgent side scenario for variety and just start at the back of the map and work forward with the checkpoints so its not the exact same experience.

Please don't let that ISMCmod mention stop you from adding Insurgents scenarios to your map. There are some really good theater mods (like Dinghy's for one) that work on both security and insurgent sides. Thanks for your effort on providing content for the community!

Sounds great.. Not sure if you are familiar with the ISMC mod, but it is not compatible (at least not yet) with the insurgents, so that version may not see as much activity. As for the points messed up... that part was ok.... You fixed C and that was good... Look forward to seeing your expansions... I certainly give it a "2 Thumbs Up!"

Very Nice improvements... Much better than yesterday.... There was one wall that I could walk through before I got to 'A', but that was minor... Did not Make it to C to check the point... This is going to be a great map... Already is a Good Map.

WOW, this Map is really progressing great.... Keep up the great work... Playing it through found only 2 issues, 1 minor 1 sort of inconvenient... At the beginning of the game around point "A" the imaginary bot is back... Suspended way in the air, I consider this a NON Issue, the 2nd Item which is inconvenient is the capture of Point "C" to where it seems to be limited to just 1 Bed... Max about 3 people to fit on the point. I can see a lot of pushing and shoving - Would be nice to extend it to 2 or 3 beds just to keep the game civil with the players. - Again... Very Nice. I played all the way through to the end and it looks great. Getting very close to that Ver 1 in my opinion. I look forward to keeping it running on my server group in the future. Where it is now, it really has a Great Ending, but would love to see more... :) - Check out my Video (15 Min, Full run though the map)... This is going to be a Great Map, and is well worth playing now in my opinion. - When you view the video, I am playing solo, the Low Ping is due to Server on Premises, Direct Connect on 10G Fiber! - Also make note that I run the ISMC Mod, Max 40 Bots, I was playing solo with 8 Bots as they are scaled. I would suggest to make the outer space some wider. Now its like you are playing in a big rocky pit with now way out. It will add to the immersion.
And make more buildings so you can flank. Now it one wide way into the objective. But what do I know.....

One way I think it would encourage more players to try out the map
Is to add more screenshoots of it and also some maybe background info to read about it
Overall I see that you did the right thing with including the needed names for servers to be able to enable it, so now I see you do get downloads for your frist map
Intersting to see a new simple looking map by someone new, because my map was very basic too
I did release it on to continue updating it with time since I was very new to mapping in this game engine (UE4) but thanfully the guides from the devs and other mappers really did helped me ton
I do think you will got much more help if you join the modding discord Discord.gg
I am looking forward to how you can (as well with others) evolve with their maps
