Hello guys,

i want to introduce you my second Insurgency sandstorm custom map named "Panzerschlacht"

An remake of my Insurgency and Day of Infamy Maps:

"panzerschlacht", "panzer_tag", "panzer_tag_btk" and "ins_panzer_tag"

Description:

Open battlefield with various cover possibilities and extensive trenches.

Capture with your troops the enemy positions in the trenches.

The map is in a very early state and not yet extensively tested, but to test it properly I have to release it, so be patient. :)

Played on Security Checkpoint. Objective B is maybe a little too open and extends double the building size out to the west.
Bunker objectives like C and D have a capzone on top and bottom that can't be walked between on counterattacks without stepping off the point. Maybe add stairs or extend the zone outside a bit.
Trenches might need more cover/boxes to get down easier.
F has lethal firesupport enabled for an open point. Objective i has lethal firesupport enabled for an open point.
Objective i is probably too small for 8 players/ final wave/ increased bot count/difficulty servers. Obj i probably needs more cover/ less open sides, as your exposed from at least 2 sides wherever you are. Obj i has a car turret that spawns in line of sight, making it near impossible to stand up without dying almost instantly.

Hello, RareK,
thanks for your constructive information, you are right in most points. But everything you are listing is actually intentionally set by me because I always try to design my maps in a way that the bots really put pressure on you so it won't be too easy. Of course a sense of achievement is more fun, but for example the larger capture zones force you out of your cover where you can shoot the attacking bots just like that. The settings of the C / D Capture Zones I have also noticed, I will adjust that.
You can also think about the "fire support" settings, they are actually unfair :) If the community in general is of the opinion that the settings are too hard, I will adjust the rest.

Does this map work on a Linux server?

Hi, I can't answer this question because all my (4) Linux servers don't start with custommaps since the 1.7 update.
Vanilla maps work without problems. I tried everything possible, nothing worked.
Try it out and report the result right here :)

Hi, I have never tried it myself, but compared to other maps you would have to enter it like this:

map is fun but we are having an issue after installing your map

when we restart our server, it brings us to farmhouse (our starter map is supposed to be refinery)

and it shows the map at night but says "error loading game mode assets"

any idea why?

Hi, glad you enjoyed the map. :)
So far the error was always wrong entries in the MapCycle.txt or in the server start line.
Check again, this one is Scenario_ps....
My other map is Scenario_p7.... "Pruefstand_7"

We like the map, but we are constantly spawning in the enemies' line of fire. Is this deliberate? It makes the map not much fun for us. So it is hard to tell you how the rest of the map is because we can't get that far! lol

Thanks for the update. It is better, Point B is very hard to defend on a counterattack as there is no cover and the bots come from multiple directions. Just offering some constructive feedback :-)
