Safehouse is a large map set in and around a luxury villa in the hills. The villa sits atop of a cliff overlooking a beautiful lake which is enclosed by the surrounding mountains. Further down the hill from the villa is the local town. It's streets have been ravished by the ongoing conflict between the locals and the Villa's own PMC forces.

As an insurgent, fight your way through the battered town, and up through the villa eventually reaching the conference room and driving the remaining security into the woods beyond. Show no mercy, use the villa's gun display cases if you must and use their own weapons against them! Playing as security will see you pushing back the insurgents out of the villa grounds, back down the hill and through the town. Eventually driving them back into the hills.

2020 Mapping competition

This map was created for the 2020 New world interactive mapping competition, I would like to be judged on Push and Checkpoint. The scenarios for that can be found here:

If I can only be judged on one layout of each, I believe Push Security plays a little better in terms of pacing etc. and Checkpoint probably plays a little better on the security layout too. But I would love to be judged on both scenarios of push and checkpoint if possible, thanks! :)

New Sandstorm messed up this map... missing Textures, Fall through floor and can't get out

Not so much textures but the entire floor is missing in some buildings. In the checkpoint insurgent scenario point A building the second floor is completely gone.
The mats and desks are still there floating but no floor.
I think the final point or the one before it is the same, it's a single story building and the floor is gone. Players fall through to the ground beneath and get trapped inside.

Despite thinking I had just managed to make it into the finalists by 5 or so votes and only two/three votes behind 8th/9th, upon verifying of the votes, Safehouse actually came 11th and therefore didn't make the finalists list as you might have seen in the announcement :(

It does mean I now can update it now though, and I already have outpost and domination working on a private build so will most likely release that a long with some other things next week or so when I have some motivation.

+ very unique pacing
+ no tunneling of players
+ some nice ideas like the weapon showcase (although a bit overdone)

- very large caps
- interiors can feel odd and unfinished

Your map offers a refreshing mixture of mid range fights between the buildings and close quarters action inside the cap zones. But it's quite obvious that you ran out of time, because a lot of buildings feel unfinished and oddly dimensioned (for example I saw a 15 meter long sofa in one of the buildings). Also the art style seems not consistent at times.
A few iterations more and it could turn into a really great map.
I saw nothing gamebreaking and enjoyed the map flow, so I give you my upvote.

Thanks for my most detailed bit of feedback yet, I have to agree some interiors are unfinished as I did run a little out of time. Thankfully the voting period has been extended till the 10th of feb and we're allowed to make one update in between that time which I hope I can rectify some of the unfinished interiors and hopefully get some last touches in :)

Curious to know which gamemode you played? Checkpoint? Security?Insurgents? Both perhaps? :)

I "played" Push with bots. But I do not rush from cap to cap, I go around and approach each objective differently to test multiple routes and look around the map.

There is a hardcore checkpoint scenario for both insurgents and security.
